Our Story

The Hudson Family Farm is a working sixth generation farm established by John P. Hudson in the early 1860’s. Shortly after, he answered President Lincoln’s call to serve in the Civil War. After a few years of fighting and becoming highly decorated, he returned home to the farm and began raising a family. In 1945, Cecil B. Hudson, along with his son, Ray M. Hudson, raised the dairy barn which stands today. the barn was the focal point of the family's dairy operation.  The barn and adjacent buildings served to provide milk to the family, neighbors, and the local community.

For decades, the farm and barn has been a gathering place for family and friends. In 2013, Leah Hudson and her fiancé Joe decided to hold their wedding on the farm with the ceremony in the barn. Shortly after their wedding, the family began getting inundated with phone calls and drive-by’s of couples hoping to book their country dream wedding at the farm. Joyce and Cecil L. Hudson decided to answer the call and start a new kind of business for the farm.

Today, Dan and his wife Rachel alongside his parents Cecil and Joyce, manage all aspects of their thriving family business.

We are proud of our history and lineage and are excited to open our home and haven to those wanting to celebrate life’s special events!
